PSC ELEVATES DCP BODE OJAJUNI TO THE ENVIABLE RANK OF COMMISSIONER OF POLICE


 

BRIEF PROFILE OF CP BODE OJAJUNI: By - Tony Okpe

 A gallant and intelligent police officer who is ever ready to use the varied experiences and training acquired over the years to deliver an effective service delivery in policing.

Ojajuni positive and patriotic zeal has imbued him with obvious leadership attributes. He apply skills and initiative to deliver quality service to his fatherland.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS. 

 1) Master's in International Relations and Strategic Studies, Lagos State University(LASU), Ojo, Lagos. 

2)Bachelor's in History Education, Ondo State University, Ado Ekiti 1993.

3) Bachelor of Law (LLB) National Open University of Nigeria.

POSTINGS:

1) Presently Deputy Commissioner of Police, in charge of State Criminal Investigation Department, Ogun State Police Command, Eleweran Abeokuta. 

2) Deputy Commissioner of Police Inspectorate at  Department of Training and Development (DTD) Nigeria Police Force Headquarters Abuja.

2) The Principal Staff Officer (PSO III ) to the Inspector General of Police (IGP Ibrahim Idris) from 2017 to January 2019 

3) Area Commander, Area "A" Command Lion Building, Lagos. His Area of Responsibility (AOR)  covers the entire 
Lagos Island, the hub of Nigeria's economic/Commercial activities and host to the Headquarters of the majority of corporate organisations in Nigeria. During his three years of tour of duty, the area recorded calmness, crime and crisis-free period which created a conducive environment for business activities, economic growth and a peaceful atmosphere for living. 

The high point of Bode Ojajuni patriotism and professionalism was demonstrated in his handling of #EndSARS protest in Lagos Island in 2020. No life was lost,  while critical national infrastructures were protected along with the property of the citizens.

In the course of his duty as Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos, he established the Human Rights Desk in all Police Divisional HQ and Human Rights Resource Centre at the State HQ for the State Police Command in 2006. This has been replicated in all commands nationwide.

Ojajuni and Major (Colonel RTD) Kingsley Umoh of 9 Brigade of Nigerian Army Ikeja, established the Military, Police and Paramilitary Forum (MILPOPPROF) in 2006, after the Police/Military clash at Area "C" Command Headquarters, Ojuelegba,  Surulere, Lagos  The objective of MILPOPPROF is to foster and promote unity among security agencies. This Forum has been expanded to Military,  Police and Paramilitary formations nationwide and its objectives have largely been achieved.

AWARDS/HONOURS 

DCP Ojajuni has been honoured within and outside Nigeria for exceptional professional attainments, interpersonal skills in serving the public and developing a valuable code of conduct in the Police profession.

He was honoured with the "OUTSTANDING AFRICAN NATIONS BUILDER'S GOLD AWARD", in Accra, Ghana in  2007. 

He won the Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN) Awards on three different occasions. 

His two alma mata, Lagos State University and Ondo State University, now University of Ado Ekiti, have honoured him with Distinguished Alumnus Awards. 

He has equally received  legion of awards within Nigeria in recognition of his contributions to Nation-Building through policing.
