FATAL MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT CLAIMS LIFE OF PEDESTRIAN IN ABEOKUTA

 

The Ogun State Police Command regrets to report a tragic accident that occurred on March 9, 2025, at about 7:00 PM, along Lafenwa Road, Abeokuta, involving a TVS motorcycle (Reg. No. Ogun GBE 566 VC) ridden by Kabiru Sanni (M), 25 years of Agbo Afoju, Sabo, Abeokuta, and an unidentified female pedestrian.

The pedestrian, whose name, age, and address remain unknown, was knocked down while crossing the road due to the reckless riding of the motorcyclist.

She sustained a severe head injury and was immediately rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Idi Aba, Abeokuta, where she sadly passed away while receiving treatment.

Accident scene visited and rough sketch drawn. The deceased’s body has been deposited at the hospital morgue for preservation and identification.

Wreckages of the motorcycle involved have been taken to the station for the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO) assessment. While the reckless motorcyclist has been detained, and the Motor Traffic Division (MTD) is conducting further investigations.

The Ogun State Police Command urges motorcycle riders and road users to adhere strictly to traffic laws to prevent avoidable road accidents.
