NSCDC MINING MARSHAL REITERATES COMMITMENT TO COMBATING ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES SAYS NO ROOM FOR COMPROMISE.
In readiness to achieve set operational plan for the year, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Mining Marshals have reaffirmed her commitment to fighting head on the menace and conspiracy theory behind illegal mining activities across the nation.
He commended the unwavering collaborations between the Ministry of Solid Minerals and the NSCDC, which birthed the Specialized Mining Marshals launched by the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr Dele Alake on March 21,2024.
He further revealed that over 2,509 special forces have been trained and deployed to the 36 states of the Federation, including the FCT.
He hinted that the Squad have relentlessly embarked on successful operations and dislodged illegal mining sites, arrests of criminal elements, conduct clearance Operations both overt and covert which has enhanced security in mining areas, ensured that mining activities are conducted with legal framework and protection of legitimate sites and title holders.
"We are very optimistic that with the encouragement and strategies put in place by the CG; our vigour is further renewed as the Squad is poised to smoke out illegal miners and their cartels without compromise...Attah said".
