LPPC Elevates Monday Onyekachi Ubani, Josiah Rapuluchuks Nduka, Prof. Ganiu Oke And 84 Others To SAN Rank
The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC), chaired by the Honorable Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, GCON, has approved the elevation of 87 legal practitioners to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) during its 164th Plenary session held on August 1, 2024.
The prestigious rank of SAN is awarded to members of the legal profession who have distinguished themselves as advocates and academics, serving as a mark of excellence in the field.
The LPPC also considered five petitions written against some of the applicants, but determined that each petition lacked merit and thus dismissed them.
The swearing-in ceremony for the 87 successful applicants is scheduled to take place on Monday, September 30, 2024.
The list of the new awardees includes 86 advocate appointees, listed in order of seniority at the bar, and one successful academic applicant, Prof. Ganiu Oke Adeyemi.
Some notable names among the advocate appointees are Lateef Olaseinde Karim, Esq., Godwin Tagbo Ike, Esq., Johnson Odionu, Esq., Nnodim Marcellinus Duru, Esq., Innocent Adams Ovbagbedia, Esq., and Soronnadi Anthony Njoku, Esq.
