Tinubu meets service chiefs, demand collaboration

President Bola Tinubu
has met with service chiefs for the first time since assumption into office,
demanding security agencies to strengthen coordination and not to work at cross
purposes.
Addressing State House correspondents, National Security Adviser Babagana Monguno, who carried the President’s message, revealed that the President expects frequent consultations
with service chiefs in tandem with the demands of the nation and will embark on
a lot of reforms.
The President also directed the security agencies to create a blueprint to address the issue of crude oil theft, stressing that modifications will be made to meet the needs of the changing times.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Farouk Yahaya; the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo; Chief
of Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Amao; and the Inspector
General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba were among those present at the President’s first meeting with the heads of the nation’s security and intelligence agencies
Others include Yusuf Bichi, Director-General of the Department of State Service (DSS), and Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA).
Government
organisations have continued to brief Preside Bola Ahmed Tinubu, since his
assumption of office on May 29.
