Hunters seek speedy implementation of NHFSS bill

The Nigerian Hunters
and Forest Security Service, NHFSS, wants President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to
consider the signing of NHFSS Bill into law to further protect lives and
property in the country.
The Nigerian Hunters
and Forest Security Service (NHFSS) establishment bill was passed by the senate
in April, 2023.
Speaking with newsmen
in Abuja, the Commander General of NHFSS, Amb Joshua Osatimehin, said signing
the bill into law will give the NHFSS the legal backing to “chase criminals
from the forests in communities”.
He congratulated
President Tinubu on his successful inauguration, stating that his capacity and
intellectual competency would no doubt go a long way in contributing to his
performance in office.
“We declare our
unalloyed loyalty to Your Excellency’s vision and mission for Nigeria ‘s
National Security and we pray that the dream of the nation for an efficient
community and Forest counter-terror armed fighters will be realized in your
tenure as the nation awaits your assent to our Bill” .
The Commander General
therefore reiterated the c the readiness of NHFSS to work with the present
administration towards getting rid of crimes and criminality in the nation’s
forest and all ungoverned spaces across the country.
He explained that
officers and men of the Service nationwide had already been trained towards
achieving the mandate on national security in the New Administration of
President Bola Tinubu.
He therefore appealed
to Nigerians to support President Tinubu’s led administration to ensure
national peace and economic development
