A former deputy governor of Nasarawa State Onje Gye-Wado has been released, after he was abducted last Friday.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the release to journalist on Monday.
Nansel said the former deputy governor spent two days in the den of his captors before his release on Sunday night, following sustained pressure from a search and rescue team.
It will be recalled that Gye-Wado was whisked away last Friday morning as gunmen broke into his residence in Gwagi village, Wamba Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
The police further disclosed the Police tactical team in collaboration with other security agencies initiated a search to rescue the ex-deputy governor unhurt.
