NSCDC, NIGERIAN CORRECTIONAL SERVICE REACH AGREEMENT TO PROTECT CUSTODIAL CENTRES IN ANAMBRA
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) in Anambra state have today reached an agreement which will lead to increased security around the custodial centres in the state, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report.
‘This agreement was reached today 2/8/2022 when Commandant Isidore C. Chikere, the State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Anambra State Command, visited the Controller of Corrections, Anambra State Command, Pat Chukwuemeka, at his office in Awka in continuation of his familiarizing visit to security agencies in Anambra state’, the press statement e-signed and released to NAOSNP by the Anambra Corps’ PRO, DSC Okadigbo Godwin revealed.
The Commandant indicated this readiness to collaborate with the Nigerian Correctional Service, NCos as part of the purpose of his visit was to familiarize himself with NCoS and to strengthen the existing working relationship between the two Services in order to improve internal security in the state.
Appreciating the Controller of Corrections for the warm reception accorded him, Commandant Chikere pledged his unflinching support in intelligence sharing and the provision of operational support. “My purpose of coming here today is to introduce myself to you and seek for areas we can collaborate towards improving the security of the State. Already we have an existing working relationship but my visit is to solidify and maintain the tempo. Be assured of my continuous intervention and support as much as possible in our efforts aimed at improving security challenges confronting us in the State,” NAOSNP gathered.
In his response, Controller Pat. Chukwuemeka, the Controller of Corrections in Anambra state thanked the NSCDC State Commandant for the visit and emphasized the need for the two Services to collaborate more in the smooth operation of an efficient justice system. “I have enjoyed a cordial working relationship with NSCDC. We shall do everything possible to support our selves and collaborate with you in achieving our goal as it concerns beefing up security around custodial centres across the State”, he said.
