Former Lagos Speaker, Jokotola Pelumi Docked For Murder
Police in Lagos has arraigned a former Speaker, Lagos
State House of Assembly, Jokotola Pelumi, for allegedly receiving into
his home, Adekunle Dabiri, who was alleged to have murdered a Deputy
Superintendent of Police.
Pleading not guilty, he was released on bail in the sum of one million naira by Chief Magistrate A.O. Adedayo who said he should also produce two responsible sureties in the like sum.
She said one of the sureties should be a member of the State House of Assembly and adjourned the case until November 26 for mention.
Also arraigned with him are, six men accused of alleged murder of a Deputy Superintendent of Police.
The prosecution said the accused persons conspired among themselves to murder DSP Akindele Akingboju of the Anti-Cultism Unit of the Lagos State Police Command.
The Chief Magistrate, ordered the remand of the accused persons at the Ikoyi Prison, pending legal advice from the Office of the State Director of Public Prosecutions.
She adjourned the case until November 26, for mention
