Offa Robbery : Police Reverse Itself, Ask Saraki To Respond In Writing
Nigerian Senate President, Bukola Saraki has taken to his social
media platforms to announce that he had received a letter from the
Nigeria Police asking him to make his defence in writing and not to
appear before police authorities.
He said, “Following my earlier tweet, I have received the letter from @PoliceNG. They are no longer asking me to appear at any station, but to respond in writing to the allegations within 48 hours, which I plan to do.”
Meanwhile, the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, on Monday kept mum after a meeting he had with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN).
The meeting which was held behind closed doors at the Presidential Villa, Abuja was also attended by the Director-General of the Department of State Security, Lawal Daura.
It also came shortly after the DSS withdrew some of its men attached to Saraki and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara. As of the time of filing this report, the Presidency had yet to issue a statement on the meeting.

the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, over his alleged
relationship with suspects arrested following the April 5 bank robbery
