Suicide bomber kills three Borno CJTF members, injures 17 others
The Borno State Police Command on Tuesday confirmed that three
members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) were killed, while 17
others were injured in a Monday suicide bomb attack on Maiduguri.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Joseph Kwaji, said in a statement that the incident occurred around 8.30pm at the Muna Delti area on the outskirts of Maiduguri.
Kwaji disclosed that a male suicide bomber riding a bicycle detonated an Improvised Explosive Device strapped to his body killing himself and three CJTF members in the area.
He said, “Seventeen other persons sustained injuries and were taken to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital for treatment.”
The PPRO added that the police had sanitised the area while normalcy had been restored.
