ENVIRONMENTAL NUISANCE : LASG SERVES 24HRS VACATION NOTICE TO ALL ILLEGAL FURNITURE TRADERS ALONG OSHODI TO MILE 2.
The
Lagos State Government has served all new/fairly used furniture traders
on road setbacks and walkways from Oshodi to Mile 2 area '24-hour
Vacation Notice'
The Chairman of the Lagos
State Task Force SP Olayinka Egbeyemi disclosed that the government
served this ' 24 Hours Vacation Notice' due to environmental nuisance
being constituted by these traders.
He
disclosed further that no responsible and responsive government would
tolerate heavy environmental degradation being perpetuated by these
illegal traders around that axis.
SP Egbeyemi
said illegal shanties constructed by these illegal traders who
specialises on new/fairly used furnitures from Oshodi to Mile 2
particularly around 'Itire' and 'Ijesha' area has now become an abode
for criminals.
"Residents around these areas
could no longer sleep with their two eyes closed because of criminals
activities being perpetuated by some miscreants and hoodlums who
pretended to be new/fairly used furniture traders around Itire and
Ijesha axis"
Also residents living around
Oshodi to Mile 2 areas has been warned to desists from dumping refuse on
the median, road setbacks and walkways.
This
warning became imperative as anyone caught dumping refuse at
undesignated spots by would be charge to court for prosecution.
The
Lagos State Government however enjoined members of the public to
properly package and dump their refuse inside waste-bin provided by
'Cleaner Lagos Initiative' at different designations across the State.
