Local vigilante rescues teenager from rapists in Suleja
A 15-year-old
girl was yesterday rescued from rapists by a local vigilante group
attached to Jubilee Road, Suleja while returning from church service at
about 10pm.
According to the
victim, a student in one of the secondary schools in Suleja identified
as Irene Omoh, the two rapists accosted her with knives to cooperate
with them and dragged her to an uncompleted building within the
location they met her.
Unknown to the
rapists, two vigilantes simply identified as Haruna and Abel where
within the area. When they saw the girl being dragged to the uncompleted
building, they hurriedly call other members on phone to come and join
them to catch the rapists.
When caught, they had already torn the girl’s dress into shreds. The vigilantes arrested him and took him to their office.
Items recovered from them are dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, screw driver and knives.
As at the time of filing this report, the vigilante said they will be handed over to the police for action.
