3 suspected kidnappers arrested in Ughelli

Three persons suspected to be kidnappers were yesterday arrested by security agents while trying to collect ransom of a victim at Agbarha-Otor Junction, Ughelli North local govern­ment area of Delta State.
One of the suspect simply identified as Awilo, said to be the brain behind most kid­nappings in Edo and Delta States, was ar­rested by a team led by ASP Shehu Mainasara following intelligence report.
A security source at the Ughelli Area Com­mand disclosed that following the arrest of the suspect who made confessional statement, the team further ar­rested two of his gang members on Monday at Ughelli.
When contacted, the State Police Commis­sioner, Mr Zanna Ibra­him who confirmed the arrest gave the names of the suspects as Peter Akatugba, 23 and Kelly Akoba, 27.
According to the po­lice boss, Akatugba in his confessional state­ment, stated that he is the personal assistant to Awilo and also gave details of their hideout adding that the police is on the hunt for other members of the gang.-The Authority
