Kidnap gang terrorising Kaduna, Niger, FCT residents nabbed
The Niger State
Police Command Special Anti-Cattle Rustling team has arrested a
notorious cattle rustler- Haruna Garba, in a cattle rustlers’ den at
Nkuchi, Paiko.
During the
operation which, according to the Niger Police Command Spokesman, Bala
Elkana (DSP), last for several hours, two of the hoodlums were also
fatally injured.
However, one AK47 rifle with 5 rounds of live ammunitions and 13 empty shells were recovered.
This is even as
the command has also arrested the leader of a notorious armed robbery
and kidnapping gang - Bungel Saleh and his gang.
The gang is said
to be made up of notorious armed robbers and kidnappers who have been
terrorizing Niger, Kaduna and Abuja in recent times.
The suspects, the
Niger Police Command Spokesman, said have since confessed to have
kidnapped a 4- year-old school pupil and collected Ten million naira as
ransom from the his family.
In a related
development, following a distress call, the Niger State Police
Command’s Anti-Robbery Squad in collaboration with the IGP Special
Tactical Squad have arrested a notorious gun runner -Nelson Paul of
Kaduna State,
The notorious gun
runner- Nelson Paul, the Niger Police command said, was arrested in the
process of selling one AK47 rifle to Idris Bello, Abdulkadir Bello and
Idris Salah.
Some firearms
recovered from him included 1 locally made SMG gun with 6 rounds of
live ammunition, 2 revolver locally made guns with 4 live cartridges, 3
locally made single barrel guns and 1 Dane gun.-The Authority
