Bauchi police uncovers fake N6m
Bauchi State Police command has arrested various suspects including a
member of a syndicate suspected of dealings in counterfeit currency. The
state commissioner of Police, Garba Baba Umar at a press conference
yesterday disclosed that they have recovered counterfeit currency
worth N6 million from the suspect, Rilwanu Ibrahim of ‘Iyale road in
Kogi State. He explained that the suspect was arrested by police
operatives attached to Toro division following a tip-off. Police
commissioner warned the general public to beware of fake currency and
urged them to report any suspicious behaviour to the police. In a
related development, police detectives attached to Soro Division have
arrested suspected kidnappers; Mohammed Adamu and Liti Baiko all of Siri
village in Ganjuwa local government area of the state. Meanwhile, the
state police command says its attention has been drawn to a purported
rumour being peddled by mischief makers that a curfew was imposed in
some parts of state. The Police command called on the people of the
state to discard such rumours and go about their lawful businesses.
Also, the Command has warned mischief makers to desist forthwith as
anyone caught spreading falsehood in order to truncate the nascent peace
presently enjoyed in the state would be severely dealt with in
