Principals Death: Okowa declares mourning in public schools

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has declared today as a day of mourn­ing in all public schools in honour of some secondary school Principals who lost their lives in a fatal road ac­cident on Saturday while returning from Kwale af­ter a meeting asa result of strike embarked upon by teachers in the state.

The governor said the af­fected schools (aside from those writing the WASC Examinations) are to close down today.

The state Ministry of Basic and Secondary Ed­ucation also commiserat­ed with the families of the three Principals and one Vice Principal who lost their lives in the unfortu­nate accident.

The Commissioner, Mr Chiedu Ebie in a press statement made available to newsmen in Warri said the Ministry received the news of their tragic and untimely death with great shock.
